Founded by Paris Cutler in 2003, Planet Cake originally established its reputation based upon its incredible novelty cakes and wedding cakes. We have made cakes for A-list celebrities such as Nicole Kidman, Celine Dion, Rihanna and Katy Perry as well as many cakes for television, magazines and, of course, hundreds of clients from around the world.
We have also created a host of amazing ‘stunt’ cakes, the most famous being a realistic replica of the Sydney Opera House for Australia Day which weighed over 1.3 tons and required 34 cake decorators to make.
In 2004, Planet Cake opened it’snow world famous cake decorating school. The school sees thousands of students from across the globe and teaches over 40 different workshops.
In 2014 Planet Cake formed joint venture partnership with well-known cake decorating school, Whimsical Cakehouse, to further extend the school’s offering. We now operate in 6 locations in Sydney and one location in Melbourne; we have plans for further interstate and overseas expansion of our teaching facilities.
The Planet Cake School teaches a unique method of cake decorating now referred to as the ‘PC Method’ and is the only school to offer an internationally recognised curriculum teaching students to become professional cake decorators and run their own successful cake businesses.
Planet Cake has written four cake decorating books:
- Planet Cake: A Guide For Beginners

These books have sold worldwide and translated into seven different languages. In 2012, Planet Cake filmed our first TV show ‘Planet Cake’ hosted by Lifestyle Food Network.
