Australia Idol Winner Guy Sebastian’s Wedding

Australia Idol Winner Guy Sebastian’s amazing wedding cake was designed in direct collaboration with Guy and his bride Jules Egan. The base cake is a stylized guitar created from white chocolate cake; the guitar cake itself is 1metre long and required a 1.4 meter cake board. The figurines and piano we expertly crafted by our most senior Artist, Margie Carter out of icing and edible colour. The figurines were based on the character illustrations on Guy and Jules wedding invitation. Guy told us that Jules was also a great musician so the position of the figurines developed very naturally.

In addition Guy absolutely loves Planet Cake’s caramel kisses and so 200 were decorated in theme and distributed to all the guests. The best couture cakes always develop as collaboration between the client and our Artists. In this case we were lucky as Planet Cake is famous for our figurines and Guy and Jules had a really unique illustration which means a lot to both of them, so it was a real thrill to be able to make the illustrations come alive as 3D figurines and develop the figurines as a bride and groom making the story of their wedding cake!
